Lisburn Road launches a Gift Voucher for the Road!
Today sees the launch of a very exciting departure for the fabulous Lisburn Road! The Lisburn Road unveils an amazing and unique Gift Voucher service which may be redeemed at any of a huge range of stores and services on the Lisburn Road. This represents the first time in Northern Ireland or indeed Ireland that such a scheme has been launched for a shopping street. Traditionally multi use Gift Vouchers are only available from shopping centres, but the Lisburn Road, through the management of the Lisburn Road Business Association (LRBA), saw the gap in the market.
The LRBA identifies the Lisburn Road very much as a shopping destination, where all ones shopping expectations are catered for from fashion boutiques, to art galleries, restaurants, interior design stores, spas, cosmetic and health services, audio visual stores, beauty salons, gyms, and much more. ‘Our customers see the Lisburn Road as a brand, an experience and a destination. As such we recognised the need to deliver a Gift Voucher service which would complement our customers shopping habits, giving the freedom to use the voucher for a huge array of shops, galleries, restaurants and services’ remarked Peter Carrington, Chairman of the LRBA.
The LRBA is a driving force behind supporting local independent retailers and protecting the unique gem in Belfast’s shopping crown which is the Lisburn Road. Often referred to as the ‘Style Mile’ the Lisburn Road offers locals and visitors to the city alike an opportunity to experience the real Belfast, over and above the expected high street retail which can be experienced across every city in the UK and Ireland. Recent NITB research showed that what visitors desire most from a city break is a ‘unique experience’.
To this end the LRBA have developed a number of initiatives to promote The Lisburn Road as a consolidated brand, which include a website www.thelisburnroad.com, TV and Radio and Press advertising campaigns, a Facebook following of circa 2,500 fans, a nominated Charity of the Year (TinyLife) and an array of other events and initiatives which promote a road with a retail heritage in Belfast dating back to 1817.
The LRBA recently won the Best Commercial Street Award and The Isobel Bennent Perpetual Cup at Belfast City Council’s Brighter Belfast Awards 2010, for the tremendous work and investment they had put into hanging baskets and flower towers right along the Lisburn Road. The LRBA is entirely self-funded by monthly contributions from the local member retailers.
Lisburn Road Gift vouchers are available in denominations of £10 right up to £1000. They are available online on www.thelisburnroad.com and maybe redeemed at a huge range of stores and services on the Lisburn Road, all of which will carry a ‘Lisburn Road Gift Voucher Accepted Here’ window sticker and point of sale display.
